About the Documentary

Overview

Seeds of Peace is a non-profit, non-political organization that was founded in 1993 by author and journalist John Wallach. Put simply, it is an organization that helps teenagers from regions of conflict learn the skills needed for making lasting peace.

The experience begins in a camp in the quiet woods of Otisfield, Maine. Here, Seeds of Peace provides a safe and supportive environment where teenagers can air their concerns and views. More importantly, they are taught the skills needed to develop understanding and communication with 'the other side'. Using proven conflict resolution techniques alongside traditional team-building exercises, the teenagers learn to find empathy for one another. These tools help equip the next generation to break the cycle of violence, for indeed these Seeds are destined to become tomorrow's leaders.
